Depression Caused by the Breakup of a Relationship
 |
If you are in a relationship which ends in an untimely fashion, especially if you were not expecting it, this can be a trigger for depression
And if you feel that you may indeed be suffering from depression due to a relationship breakup, then you do have a few choices to get your life back in order, even if you don’t realize.
The wrong way is to sit and mope around, feeling sorry for yourself and dwell on every part of the break up. The right way is to try and do something which will help you move on.
By dwelling on the break up too much, you could come to your senses and snap out of it. But if you don not snap out of it, the depression will just get forever worse.

It’s like stumbling through the darkness without even attempting to find a light switch, even if someone hands you a torch, you refuse to take it as you are to busy stumbling. Take the torch and get some life back into your life.
But if you choose to try and get above your depression, you will start to feel a lot better about everything. Try to get out with some friends or join a new club. It is easier to move on with people around you than it is on your own.
Just by attempting to get back to a normal routine in your life is a step in the right direction to overcoming depression. The acid test is to see your ex partner and it has little to no effect on your well being.
Once the depression cloud that was caused by the break up has lifted, you are going the right way to getting back to normal. And by getting back to normal, any future relationships will not suffer from the effects of the previous one.
The people around you will be happy to have you as part of their group instead of trying to avoid the old ‘depressive’ you. And who know, they may even seek advice from you if their relationship goes wrong.
